- Refund requests are governed by Google Play Store refund policies and applicable statutory consumer protection laws.
1. Google Play Billing & Subscriptions
DocMyHVAC is distributed through the Google Play Store. All in-app purchases, recurring subscription plans, and associated payments are processed and managed directly through Google Play Billing in accordance with Google Play's Terms of Service and policies.
Because transactions are handled by Google, DocMyHVAC does not store, receive, or process your credit card numbers, bank account numbers, or direct financial payment credentials. All billing records are linked directly to your Google Account.
2. 14-Day Free Trial & Cancellation Terms
2.1 Free Trial Details
New subscribers to DocMyHVAC are eligible for a 14-day free trial. During this trial period, you have full, unrestricted access to all features, including OCR equipment scanning, PDF report generation, EPA 608 compliance logs, and optional cloud storage.
If you do not wish to continue with a paid subscription after the trial, you must cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before the 14-day trial period expires. If you cancel before the trial ends, your Google Play payment method will not be charged.
2.2 How to Cancel Your Subscription
Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through your Google Play Account Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
Step-by-Step Cancellation via Android Device:
- Open the Google Play Store app on your Android device.
- Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- Select DocMyHVAC (or ClaimMyHVAC).
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the on-screen prompts.
You can also manage or cancel subscriptions on a web browser by visiting play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
When you cancel, your subscription will remain active until the end of the current paid billing period (or free trial). You will not be charged for future billing cycles.
3. Google Play Refund Process
All in-app purchases and subscription refunds are managed directly through Google Play Store policies. Users can request a refund via Google Play Order History or Google Support.
How to Request a Refund from Google Play:
Google Play typically provides automated refund decisions within 48 hours of an accidental purchase or initial charge through their online refund portal.
Visit your Google Play Order History online, locate the DocMyHVAC transaction, select Report a problem, and choose the refund option.
4. Statutory Consumer Rights & Regional Protections
4.1 European Union & United Kingdom Residents
If you reside in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without providing reason, pursuant to EU Directive 2011/83/EU and the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. When you purchase a digital subscription via Google Play, Google Play provides mechanisms to exercise statutory withdrawal rights where applicable under local consumer protection regulations.
4.2 United States Consumers
For users in the United States, subscription renewals and refund authorizations are governed by the Google Play Terms of Service and applicable state consumer protection guidelines.
5. Technical Faults & Developer Assistance
If you encounter technical issues, unexpected service interruptions, or unintended billing duplicate charges caused by system faults, our support team is available to assist you. While we cannot override Google Play's automated merchant payment backend, we will investigate any technical issues promptly and guide you on the necessary steps to rectify the problem or submit an authorized merchant dispute with Google Play.
